At 1:21 pm, Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue responded to reports of a commercial fire at 4260 SW 110th Avenue in Beaverton. Firefighters from nearby West Slope Station 65 arrived at the business in just three minutes to find heavy smoke coming from the eaves of the structure.
Firefighters located the fire in the attic of the building, which houses the Beaverton Jade Sauna, and initiated an offensive fire attack. The fire was knocked down and brought under control approximately 10 minutes after firefighters first arrived.
The fire was reported by a customer inside the spa who was told to call 9-1-1 while everyone inside evacuated. Everyone evacuated safely and there were no injuries. Traffic on SW 110th Avenue is being re-routed around the fire scene. A fire investigator is on scene working to determine the cause of the fire and a damage estimate. TVF&R was assisted by Portland Fire & Rescue on this fire.
TVF&R encourages the public to get out immediately, call 9-1-1, and do not go back inside if you suspect that there is a fire, even if you are not sure. It is always better to be safe than sorry.
