On Saturday, June 3, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue will host an open house at Station 20 located in downtown Newberg at 414 E 2nd Street. Families and community members are invited to tour the station, meet with firefighters, participate in the Junior Firefighter Challenge, and learn fire and life safety tips.
Station 20 houses one of TVF&R’s two water rescue teams that responds in TVF&R’s District and to emergency needs in the region. It is also home to two medic units that respond in Newberg and the surrounding areas. One of TVF&R’s antique engines, Engine 4 which was the fourth engine serving Newberg, will also be on-site for the open house.
Station 20 takes pride in its long history of service to the Newberg community, not only in fire and emergency medical response, but also in its partnership with the Toy and Joy holiday gift program and supporting events such as the Annual Egg Hunt, the Old-Fashioned Festival, and the hanging of holiday lights downtown.
