At approximately 6:15 p.m. Sunday, crews from Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue and Portland Fire & Rescue responded to a commercial structure fire at an apartment building in the 6700 block of SW Canyon Road.
Firefighters arriving on scene observed heavy smoke and flames spreading across the front of the building, extending to all sides and into the roof. Two apartments were affected, but initial reports confirmed that all occupants had safely evacuated before crews entered.
Firefighters launched an aggressive interior attack, simultaneously conducting search and ventilation operations. Within 20 minutes of the initial dispatch, the fire was brought under control. No injuries were reported among residents or firefighters.
The response was supported by Portland Fire & Rescue, American Medical Response (AMR), Portland General Electric (PGE), NW Natural, and the Washington County Sheriff’s Office. SW Canyon Road was temporarily closed during the incident.
Investigators are working to determine the fire’s origin and cause.
