Firefighters’ Tires Slashed While on Shift at Station 60

tire.jpg
Yesterday morning, firefighters working at Station 60 located at 8585 NW Johnson Street in unincorporated Washington County discovered a disappointing site as they prepared to leave the station after working a 24-hour shift. Several tires on four of their personal vehicles were slashed. No fire vehicles were parked in the lot.

Washington County Sherriff’s Office is investigating the incident, and there are still no suspects. The motive for the vandalism is unclear and this incident is unrelated to a similar case last December in Beaverton. If you have information about the crime, please call the Sherriff’s non-emergency line at (503) 846-2700.

The community and local businesses showed a humbling amount of generosity with offers to purchase new tires for the affected firefighters during last year’s event, but we are asking people not to start up crowdfunding sites due to the risk of fraudulent fundraising. If you’d like to support the affected firefighters, you can donate to Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue’s Professional Firefighters Community Assistance Fund, PO Box 1904, Lake Oswego, OR 97035. Please specify “Station 60 Firefighters”.
