Posted on: March 6, 2020[ARCHIVED] Celebration of Life for Captain Dave Pearson is March 16
Due to Governor Kate Brown’s Order limiting gatherings to fewer than 250 people to slow the spread of COVID-19, the Pearson family has scaled down their Celebration of Life for Captain Dave Pearson. It is now a private event.
This means attendance will be prioritized for their family, closest friends, and fire service family. Thank you for your understanding during this difficult time. The family is grateful for the support and love that the greater community has shown in honoring Dave.

The past month has been very difficult for Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue, and we find ourselves with heavy hearts as we mourn the loss of Captain Dave Pearson, who passed away peacefully Sunday morning, March 1, as a result of complications of an illness.
Captain Pearson spent two decades serving others, most recently at Tualatin Station 34 as part of TVF&R’s Hazardous Materials Team. He was a valued leader and friend. His loss is felt greatly.
“I’ve been so very proud of the way that our people have rallied around the Pearson family,” said Fire Chief Deric Weiss. “I know that love and support will continue."
In honor of Captain Pearson, all personnel placed a mourning shroud over their badge and American flags outside District facilities and fire stations are at half-staff.
