[ARCHIVED] TVF&R Responds to Early Morning House Fire in Aloha

Early Morning House Fire in Aloha

At 3:15 am, Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue responded to reports of a residential fire at 2440 SW 214th Place in Aloha. As firefighters were responding to the scene, they received additional information that a victim was possibly trapped inside.

Upon arrival, firefighters from TVF&R's Aloha Station 62 encountered a significant volume of fire coming from the rear of the structure on the second floor. Under heavy fire conditions, firefighters began searching for trapped occupants as additional crews simultaneously initiated an interior attack on the fire.

A search of the home led firefighters to a woman on the second floor. They evacuated her through the front door of the residence and began administering medical care on scene. The woman was transported to Providence St. Vincent Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. Paramedic firefighters rode with the woman to the hospital and continued medical care in the ambulance.

Two additional occupants escaped the fire on their own prior to the arrival of firefighters. An adult male also sustained life-threatening injuries from the fire. Paramedic firefighters began administering medical care at the scene and he was transported to the hospital with firefighters continuing care en route.

After an aggressive attack, the fire was knocked down within 10 minutes of firefighters arriving at the scene. Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue was assisted through mutual aid in fighting this fire by Hillsboro Fire & Rescue.

A fire investigator is currently on scene working to determine the cause of this fire. It has been confirmed that working smoking alarms in this home alerted occupants to the fire. TVF&R urges citizens to have working smoke alarms in every sleeping area and on every floor of your home, as well as a family fire escape plan.
