Just after 7 a.m. today, firefighters from Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue responded to a reported vehicle over an embankment on Southwest Barnes Road near Cedar Hills Boulevard.
First-arriving firefighters from the Cedar Hills fire station discovered that a single vehicle left the roadway, traveling approximately 90 feet down a steep embankment into thick brush and blackberries. The single occupant of the vehicle was still trapped inside.
Firefighters requested additional resources to assist with the extrication of the patient, including resources from TVF&R’s Technical Rescue Team.
A rope system was used to bring the patient up the embankment to the roadway, where he was then transported to Oregon Health & Science University for traumatic injuries.
Southwest Barnes Road was closed for approximately 45 minutes while firefighters worked to extricate the patient.
