At 6:35 p.m., multiple calls to 911 indicated that two structures were on fire at Southwest Parker Court and 209th Avenue in Aloha.

Firefighters observed a thick column of black smoke rising from the property as they responded. One caller reported that the heat was so intense, she felt it radiate through her vehicle as she drove by the scene.

Firefighters from Engine 92, based out of TVF&R's Aloha Station 62, arrived within four minutes of dispatch to find what appeared to be an abandoned building fully involved in fire, which had extended to a 20-foot-by-40-foot outbuilding and trees that surrounded the property.

They initiated a defensive fire attack. The fire was brought under control within eight minutes of firefighters' arrival.

The structures were reportedly built in the 1920s and have been used for storage by the property owners for many years. Neither structure was served by utilities.

Damage was such that an immediate area of origin or fire cause has not been determined by a TVF&R fire investigator at this time. Both buildings are considered a complete loss.

Hillsboro Fire & Rescue responded to this incident to provide mutual aid. Washington County Sheriff's Office personnel also responded to provide traffic control during the incident response.
