At 10:29pm last night, dispatchers received multiple reports of a shed on fire in the northwest section of property at Aloha High School.
Within five minutes, firefighters from Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue’s Station 62 arrived to find the shed fully engulfed in flames, as well as a neighbor’s arborvitaes. Firefighters quickly extinguished the shed, the arborvitaes, and a nearby tree. Damage was contained to the shed; no other structures were involved, including the high school.
An investigator was called to the scene and at this time has ruled the fire undetermined. The shed was used for storing teaching supplies and photos for the on-campus preschool. Damages are estimated at around $10,000. The investigator is working with the Beaverton School District during the ongoing investigation. Anyone with information regarding this incident can contact the investigator at 503-259-1420.
School officials have already been asked by community members how they can support the preschool. Anyone interested in supporting the preschool can call 503-259-4700 or visit the High School’s main office next week during regular office hours.
