TVF&R firefighters were dispatched at 5:40am this morning (7/19) to a report of a house fire on 11925 SW Morning Hill Drive in Tigard. On arrival firefighters found heavy black smoke coming from the eaves and fire blowing out an attic vent. Crews made an aggressive attack of the fire and had the bulk of the flames extinguished within approximately 20 minutes. During the course of fire attack, one corner of the roof began to collapse, but firefighters quickly gained control to prevent further collapse. Approximately 23 firefighters responded to the incident.
Four occupants were home at the time and safely escaped with no injuries. According to a person living there, they were initially alerted to the fire by a passer-by who knocked on their door.
Fire investigators remain on scene examining material evidence and burn patterns to determine the cause of the fire. There is no damage estimate at this time.
