**Updated with fire cause**
A TVF&R fire investigator has determined that the cause of this fire was accidental in nature. Information relayed by the male patient injured at the scene to investigators indicates that he was involved in the process of butane hash oil extraction when the fire occurred. The Tigard Police Department's investigation of this incident is ongoing at this time.

At 2:17 pm, Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue responded to reports of a vehicle on fire in a parking lot in the vicinity of SW Pacific Highway and SW 74th Avenue in Tigard.
Firefighters arrived to find multiple vehicles involved in fire and worked to quickly extinguish the blazes. A total of five vehicles, which were parked in close proximity to each other, sustained damage as a result of this fire. Two vehicles are a complete loss; three additional vehicles were damaged as a result of heat exposure.
A male patient sustained burns in the fire. He was transported via Metro West Ambulance to the Legacy Emanuel Burn Center with a Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue paramedic assisting ambulance paramedics in rendering patient care en route to the hospital. The severity of the patient's injuries is unknown at this time.
A TVF&R fire investigator is on scene working to determine the cause of the fire along with Tigard Police. Updates will be provided as they become available.
