On Saturday, March 16, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue will host an open house at Station 65 located in West Slope at 3425 SW 103rd Avenue in Beaverton. Families and community members are invited to tour the station, meet with firefighters, participate in the Junior Firefighter Challenge, and learn fire and life safety tips.
Station 65 houses an engine and two water tenders, the latter of which are dispatched to areas without fire hydrant access to help bring additional water to a fire. Two of TVF&R’s antique engines will also be on-site for the open house.
Station 65 serves the West Slope and Raleigh Hills neighborhoods. This station was re-built at a new location in 2012 using funds from TVF&R’s voter-approved bond. The station was constructed to survive a major earthquake and is large enough to accommodate today’s modern fire apparatus.
