Location / Service Area
Station 35, located on Highway 99W just south of Durham Road, was constructed in 1972 and seismically upgraded in 2003. Station 35’s service area includes King City, portions of south Tigard and west Tualatin, and unincorporated territory in Washington County.
Why a New Station?
Based on analysis of incident density, call volume, and travel times, District leadership have confirmed the current siting of Station 35 and the resources serving its immediate response area. In recent years, Station 35 has averaged responding to approximately 3,700 calls per year. The Station 35 rebuild will be seismically sound and will incorporate operational efficiencies for improved response.
Construction and Project Highlights
December 2025
The major components of the modular temporary station and apparatus bay are complete. Once the bay door of the apparatus bay is installed, the Station 35 crew can move in. That is expected to happen this winter. The project team is awaiting permit approval from the Oregon Department of Transportation to begin construction on the new fire station.
Above are images of the exterior and interior of the temporary quarters.
November 2025
The temporary station and apparatus bay is 75 percent complete; remaining items will be completed the day firefighters move in. Permitting is in the final stages.

July 2025
The project team has received site permits from the city, Clean Water Services, and ODOT, and site preparation for the temporary station (modular unit) has begun.
