TVF&R’s Hazardous Materials Team Responds to Beaverton Apartment Complex

Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue’s Hazardous Materials Response Team remains on scene at the Andover Apartment complex in the 15200 block of Southwest Teal Boulevard working with local law enforcement after a light vapor was reported coming from a garage unit. Firefighters have isolated the substance.

Crews are working with Beaverton Police Department to contact the resident to determine the nature of the activity in the garage. As a precaution, the building connected to the garage was evacuated. The building has five occupied units.

It is standard practice for hazardous material responders to maintain a safety zone while they work to locate, identify and mitigate hazardous substances.

There is no additional information at this time. The Andover Apartment complex is on private property, and the owner has requested no media on site.
