TVF&R Chief Mike Duyck will serve as the organization’s Chief Executive Officer, and a TVF&R battalion chief will provide administrative oversight 40 hours per week. The initial agreement extends to June 30, 2016. However, both boards are discussing the possibility of expanding the agreement to include operational oversight in the future.
Chief Duyck states, “We are humbled by this opportunity to learn from and work alongside the dedicated men and women of Washington County Fire District #2. We have a rich tradition of partnerships like this and look forward to ways we can support the community of North Plains and residents of western Washington County.”
Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue provides fire protection and emergency medical services to approximately 454,000 residents in its 210-square-mile service area, which is adjacent to District 2 along its northeast and southeast borders.
