Local Scout troops won’t want to miss an opportunity to learn about fire safety and emergency preparedness from professionals.
Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue is hosting a Scout Day on Saturday, April 11, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the North Operating Center, 20665 S.W. Blanton St., in Aloha. Both Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts from across TVF&R’s service area are invited to attend this free community event.
Scouts will have an opportunity to tour a fire station, learn about firefighting as a career, go through the Fire Safety House, and explore firefighting gear, fire trucks, and engines.
Scouts will also have a chance to earn their first-aid merit badges by going through a skills course with TVF&R emergency medical technicians. Requirements for both Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts will be covered in the special training session.
