In this recent Oregonian article from Rebecca Woolington,Trace Richard shares some insight into his background and his position with TVF&R. As a Fire Inspector, his job is to ensure that buildings meet code requirements and that the system of safety measures are in place. As one of a team of members that also include deputy fire marshals, they participate in planning and review of new construction projects in addition to inspections of existing structures. Those reviews further extend from the building itself to the access roads and water systems for fighting fires.
