Air Monitoring Study
Completed in 2012, this study on chemicals found in the overhaul phase of structure fires used advanced portable air monitoring with chemical speciation. It was a joint effort between Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue, Oregon Office of State Fire Marshal, and the Governor’s Fire Service Policy Council. The study and efforts received the Fire Safety Leadership Award from Senator Sarbanes.

Apartment Manager Program
A series of deadly apartment fires prompted TVF&R to take a fresh look at why residents were disabling their smoke alarms and what prevention strategies make a difference. The result is a nationally recognized program that provides training and resources for apartment managers and tenants.
