Weather and Floods
Our weather hazards vary considerably: we see few violent thunderstorms and even fewer tornadoes, but potentially face everything other than tropical storms.  Our most consistently hazardous weather is in winter: windstorms, rain, flooding, and occasional snow, ice, and cold.

Public Sandbag Sites
Public agencies in Washington, Clackamas, and Yamhill Counties typically have free sand and sandbags available from ~ October through May. During localized flooding incidents, you may wish to contact the specific agency to ensure availability; some city-hosted sites are for residents only.

NOTE: All sites are self-service; you must bring your own shovel. Filling sandbags may be a two-person job.
