Technical Rescue Team
The Technical Rescue Team is compromised of approximately 30 trained and
qualified members. A minimum of six are on duty at Station 51 each
shift. Team members receive
extensive training and perform rescues in the areas of
Confined
Spaces, Rope Rescue, General Extrication, Entrapped Patient, Structural
Collapse/Advanced Heavy Rescue, and Truck Operations.
Team
members utilize special equipment and apparatus in the course of
their job. To avoid the
large capital expenditure
of this specialized equipment, the District has
entered into a unique partnership with
United Rentals to donate
or replace existing equipment when needed. Tualatin Valley Fire &
Rescue thanks United Rentals for its commitment to the public safety.
In 2005, three Urban Search and Rescue Trailers were put in service
thanks to the Oregon State Fire Marshals Office.
