TVF&R Team Takes 2008 Top Honors!
The Scott Firefighter Stairclimb—a fundraiser for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society— requires participants wearing 50 lbs of turnouts, boots, and air packs to race up 69 flights of stairs to reach the observation deck and finish line of the Columbia Center in Seattle, Washington. This year’s event had the largest number of firefighters participate to date with 1,311 firefighters from 156 departments.

Our team took many top honors and is currently in second place for fundraising.
 

Second Largest Team in the Event: The TVF&R/Local 1660 team of 37 members was second only to Seattle Fire Department.

Second in Team Time: The top three team member’s times are used to determine team time. Congratulations:

Third Overall Female:
Krissy Preim-Smith (Females / Age 25 to 29).

First in Age Division:
Jim Davis Sr. (Males / Age 55 to 59);
Krissy Preim-Smith (Females / Age 25 to 29)

Second in Age Division:
James Thornton (Males / Age 40 to 44 and Masters Division

Third in Age Division:
Ron Baker (Males / Age 20 to 24)

Fourth in Age Division:
Virgil Hall (Males / Age 45 to 49)

This year marks the eighth year TVF&R has participated in this event. In 2007, our team placed third out of 143 teams, had two members place in the top 25, and six members in the overall top 100.

Our team hopes to raise $15,000 through individual and corporate donations.
