Agricultural Burning Policy
Effective January 1, 2004, Tualatin Valley
Fire and Rescue revised their policy and procedure on the issuance
of agricultural burn permits.
Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue will no longer
issue written agricultural burning permits; however, burning of
agricultural debris will be allowed in compliance with the Fire
District’s Safe Burning Regulations,
DEQ’s Air Pollution
Regulations, and Oregon State Statutes. See our
guidelines for specific
information. To determine whether you qualify as an
agricultural operation, or for definitions of burn types and a
description of burnable materials, review the
DEQ Fact Sheet.
Individuals in our District who have held agricultural burn permits
in the past were sent a letter,
guidelines and a
DEQ Fact Sheet
on the new procedures.
If you have any questions regarding the new
policy or procedure please contact Deputy Fire Marshal Jerry Renfro, at 503-612-7007
or Deputy Fire Marshal Ed Bonollo at 503-612-7004.
The Fire Marshal strongly
recommends that all agricultural burning be done during designated burn
seasons: March 1 through June 15, and October 1 through December 15.
