How do I become a Firefighter at TVF&R?
The steps in the recruitment, evaluation and
selection process are summarized as follows:
Making the eligible list
TVF&R offers full service testing services
for the positions of Firefighter and Firefighter
Paramedic through National Testing Network, Inc
(NTN). Interested individuals may at any time apply
and schedule testing via NTN’s website. The
testing involves high quality simulation tests in a
standardized, fair testing environment. Upon
completion of the exam, a candidate’s score is
automatically maintained by NTN for the duration of
the individual’s eligibility (12 months).
Selection process
Once there are
declared vacancies and a timeline is set for a
recruit academy, a number of individuals from
the top of the eligible list are invited to
participate in a series of selection steps, including the Candidate Physical Abilities Test (CPAT) and Chief’s interviews.
What are the requirements?
