Land Purchase
Why purchase land?
In 2002, the Metro Regional Government approved a series of
expansions to the Urban Growth Boundary, including an 800 acre
increase in the North Bethany area. Washington County is
coordinating the master planning for this site and expects a
community of 3,500-6,500 people to eventually develop there. When
combined with the significant growth that has already occurred in
the Bethany community, construction of a fire station at some point in the future will likely be warranted.
Location and Timeline
The District has purchased property at 15035 SW Springville Road. The pace of new development in this area will determine the feasibility of and need to construct and staff a new fire station. Computerized response data indicates that the area is currently served within a 5 minute 10 second response time from Fire Stations 64, 68, and 368. In addition, Fire Station 62 and two Hillsboro fire stations on the District’s western border can also be called upon to serve the North Bethany community.
