The newest of the
District’s facilities, Butner Road fire station’s first response
area includes portions of North Beaverton and unincorporated Washington
County. The region contains a variety of occupancies ranging from
residential, high volume commercial and hi-tech industrial, to several
large recreational facilities. Station 61 houses 12 full-time personnel
(4 on each 24-hour shift), with paramedic(s) staffing Squirt 61 at
all times. In addition, Station 61 is the base station for
Peak Activity Rescue Unit R91, which is
staffed during times of peak incident occurrence and utilized as
backfill coverage for stations responding to calls, scheduled for
training, or for administrative leave.
The
station also has a Community Room that is used by a wide variety of
neighborhood and community groups, as well as for Fire District training
and meetings, and office space dedicated for use by local law
enforcement agencies.
Station 61 was closed in 1998, relocated and reopened in 2000.
