HICS
materials available The California EMS Authority
has completed and released materials for the newly revised
Hospital Incident Command System (HICS). Materials
include a guidebook and glossary, FAQs, teaching materials,
implementation guidance and resources, and an
e-mail address for questions.
The online
HICS Center has teaching materials and a variety of other
resources; many require (free) site registration. |
NIMS-compliance training for hospitals and healthcare systems
Two online classes are available through
FEMA's Emergency Management Institute:
These
classes satisfy NIMS-compliance standards for ICS-100 and
ICS-200 training. Other required classes, such as
IS-700 (NIMS) and
IS-800.B (NRF), are also available. |
International Disaster
Management Conference
The
29th annual International
Disaster Management Conference was held in Orlando, January
31-February 3, 2008. Topics included
hospital preparedness, disaster medicine, mass casualty
response, public health, interagency planning, and a host of
others.
Proceedings from the
conference will be available online in the near future.
The 30th annual International Disaster Management Conference
