Fire District and Wilsonville Family Fun Center Team Up to Help Less Fortunate Children

Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue and the Wilsonville Family Fun Center have teamed-up to help brighten the holidays for less fortunate children this season. On Saturday, November 10, 2001, the Wilsonville Family Fun Center will offer a "Pick 3 Package" that includes three attractions for $12. For each "Pick 3 Package" purchased that day during operating hours (9am –11 pm), the District will receive $4 towards its Toy & Joy Program. Attractions (not unlimited) include: laser tag, 18 holes of miniature golf, Max Flight cyber-coaster ride, go-kart ride, Kidopolis Playland, 20 arcade tokens, 50 pitches in the batting cage, and bumper boats. The District will use the proceeds from the "Pick 3 Packages" to purchase toys and other items from local wholesalers. The Wilsonville Family Fun Center is located at 29111 S.W. Town Center Loop West in Wilsonville. For more information about the Fun Center visit www.wffc.citysearch.com.

Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue’s Toy & Joy Program assists over 10,000 children each year. The program is completely dependent on community donations. Karen Eubanks, Public Information Officer, states, "We are a little anxious this year in light of current economic conditions. We definitely expect to be engaged in a balancing act between an increase in requests for toys and a decrease in the level of giving." Eubanks added, "It is our hope that the community will join our firefighters and their families at the Wilsonville Family Fun Center on Saturday, November 10. This is a great chance to have some fun, while helping those less fortunate in our community."
