(Toys DESPERATELY Needed for Holiday Program)

Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue desperately needs toys for its Toy & Joy Program. Toys for children ages 0-2 and 10-13 are needed to fill the demand for toys this holiday season. With thousands of children still left to assist, the District currently has no toys available for these two age groups.

Karen Eubanks, Public Information Officer for the Fire District states, "We have more children needing assistance and less people able to give this year." She added, "It is "crunch-time" and we currently have no way to fill all of the requests."

Individuals or organizations wishing to assist the Fire District’s Toy & Joy Program may:

  1. Drop off a NEW toy for a child (0-2 or 10-13 years) at any TVF&R fire station.
  2. Make a cash donation to purchase toys for these age groups. Checks (made out to Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue/ Toy & Joy Program) can be dropped off at any fire station or mailed to the District’s Administration Office at 20665 S.W. Blanton Street, Aloha, 97007.
  3. Select a gift tag for a less fortunate child off the giving tree at the Tigard Toys R Us store.
  4. Drop off a toy at a business participating in our toy drive – visit www.tvfr.com for a complete list.

The District expects to receive approximately 10,000 requests for toys this year. Toys will be accepted until Christmas Eve.
