While there are no projections for serious flooding, weather forecasters are predicting heavy rain this weekend, and the potential exists for localized flooding to occur in some of the areas served by Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue. As a precautionary measure, TVF&R and the cities of Beaverton and Tigard have set up "self-serve" sandbag sites for area residents who may need them.

• The City of Beaverton has set up a site at the corner of Canyon and Broadway (enter off Canyon at the Texaco station).
• The City of Tigard has established a site across the street from the Tigard Water District at 8777 SW Burnham.
• TVF&R has set up two sites. The first is in a parking area immediately north of the Aloha Fire Station at 3608 SW 209^th Avenue. The second is located at the King City Fire Station at 17135 SW Pacific Highway.

All four sites have piles of sand and bags available for persons to make their own sandbags.

TVF&R officials wish to stress that there are no threats of serious flooding at this time. The sandbag sites have been set up for the convenience of those persons who may experience localized flooding around their homes or businesses.
