(Burn Ban Implemented)

The Washington County Fire Defense Board in cooperation with the Department of Forestry, has banned all outdoor burning within Washington County. Following that decision, effective immediately, Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue has banned all outdoor burning within its jurisdiction, including areas served in Multnomah County (Skyline area) and Clackamas County (Wilsonville, West Linn, Oregon City, Rosemont, and Stafford Basin).

The burn ban will remain in effect until cooler temperatures minimize the fire danger. Although a burn ban is a common occurrence each summer, this year’s ban was initiated approximately one month earlier than normal.

Those found burning during the ban may be issued a citation and/or found liable for any damages, (property loss and suppression costs) resulting from a burning incident.

Individuals needing information on the burn ban or burning permits should contact Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue at (503) 649-8577.
