(Fire District plans community meeting for Aloha neighborhood following Rosa Rd. fire)

Following the June 20th house fire at the intersection of Rosa Rd. and 185th Ave. that claimed the life of an Aloha woman, Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue is hosting a community meeting on Thursday, July 13th at 7:00 p.m. to answer neighbors’ questions and share fire safety and prevention information. The meeting will be held TVF&R’s Administrative Building located at 20665 SW Blanton Street (near the corner of 209th Ave.) in Aloha.

TVF&R holds meetings in neighborhoods affected by major fires to share information with concerned residents, explain the actions of responding firefighters, and share whatever safety "lessons" may have been learned or reinforced by the incident. The June 20th fire broke out upstairs in a two-story home occupied by a couple in their 60s. The husband, who was downstairs at the time of the fire, escaped after passersby alerted him to the fire. The fire’s victim was the wife, who was found by firefighters after they fought their way into the home’s second floor, which was engulfed in flames on their arrival.

For more information about the meeting, please contact Kristin Chaffee, Community Liaison in TVF&R’s North Division office at 526-2469.
