Investigators Begin Processing Fire Scene at Barnes Road Strip Mall
A team of Fire Investigators has begun processing the scene of a two-alarm fire which occurred early Monday morning in a strip mall at Barnes and Miller Road. The eight-member team, consisting of six Deputy Fire Marshals from Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue and two investigators from ATF, will be focusing their attention on the eastern end of the strip mall where Pavlock Chiropractic, Teak Design-a teakwood furniture business, and Cameloc Interior Designs were located. Portions of the burned roof that dropped into the structure will be removed today, enabling investigators to begin digging through the scene looking for evidence on Wednesday.
It is not unusual for ATF investigators to assist local fire departments. States Dale Broyles, Lead Fire Investigator for the incident, "Its fairly common to include their investigators any time you have a high dollar loss fire. The fire remains under investigation, with no obvious fire causes at this time."
For further information on the investigation, contact Deputy Fire Marshal Kate Stoller. Kate is assisting in the investigation at the scene and is available for media interviews and/or questions at 301-8331 (pager).
