(Toys Desperately Needed for Holiday Program)

Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue desperately needs additional toys for its Toy & Joy Program. Toys for children ages 6-16, and infants ((0-3) are especially needed to fill the demand for toys this holiday season. The District expects to receive over 10,000 requests for toys this year. Karen Eubanks, Public Information Officer for the Fire District states, "Donations have gotten off to a slow start this year, causing us to question whether we will be able to help all of the children." Toy requests will begin to be processed next week, and will continue until Christmas Eve.

Individuals or organizations wishing to assist the District’s Toy & Joy Program may:

  1. Drop off a new toy or item at any TVF&R fire station or the Shilo Inn - corporate office.
  2. Make a cash donation to purchase necessary toys. Checks (made out to Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue/ Toy & Joy Program) can be dropped off at any fire station or mailed to the District’s Administration Office at 20665 S.W. Blanton Street, Aloha, 97007.
  3. Consider hosting a holiday party and asking guests (or employees) to bring a gift for a less fortunate child.
  4. Select a gift tag for a less fortunate child off a giving tree at the Tigard Toys R Us store.
