(Fire District Board Elects New Officers)
The board of directors of Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue announces the election of new board officers for 2000-2001. The board elects officers from among its five members each July.
Bob Wyffels of Tigard has been elected to serve as board president. Wyffels has served as a district board member since 1996, and was on the districts budget committee for 13 years prior to joining the board. He replaces Carol Gearin of Cedar Mill, who was term-limited after three terms as board president, and remains on the board as a director.
Larry Goff of Wilsonville was elected as the boards vice-president. Goff has been a director since 1985, when he joined the board of the Tualatin Rural Fire Protection District prior to its merger into Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue.
Wilsonville resident Brian Clopton was elected by the board to serve as secretary-treasurer. Clopton has served on the TVF&R board since 1997.
The fifth member of the board, who is continuing his service as a director, is Clark Balfour of Sherwood.
The board of directors consists of five members elected at-large by voters within the fire district and is the districts governing body, providing direction and policy guidance to the organization. Board members serve four-year terms.
