Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue has activated its Fire Operations Center. A management team located at the Fire Operations Center is coordinating response of fire units to a significant number of emergency incidents related to the current wind event. TVF&R serves eleven cities and four counties in the metro area.
Since about 6:45 a.m., emergency responders have been responding to downed trees and power lines, brush fires, motor vehicle crashes and other incidents.
Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue reminds individuals that with the current demand on public safety agencies, emergency responders must prioritize their response to incidents. At this time, emergency responders are responding to incidents with confirmed multiple patients and situations with a known life safety threat. All other situations will be responded to, as resources become available. People are encouraged to avoid travel if possible since several roads are closed due to downed trees.
