TVF&R Temporarily Modifies Response Protocols While Responding to High Volume of Calls

SW 72nd Bonita small.jpg

Along with other local emergency response agencies, Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue crews have been busy responding to upwards of 30 water-related calls this morning and afternoon. The majority of calls have been related to flooded intersections, motor vehicle accidents and submersions, and water entering people’s residences after significant rainfall overnight and this morning.

In response, Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue has activated additional single units to supplement emergency response crews. We encourage the public to continue to call 9-1-1 with water-related problems, but know that resources are being prioritized based on life-safety risk. This may mean that TVF&R units will be delayed to assist residents with localized flooding issues.

Sandbags are available at Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue Station 62 located at 3608 SW 209th Avenue, Aloha. Additional information about sandbags in Washington and Clackamas counties, as well as weather and flooding safety tips, is available at www.tvfr.com.
