Located in the Oak Hills neighborhood near 147th
Place and West Union Road, Station 68 serves an
area between Highway 26 in Washington County and
Highway 30 in Multnomah County. This station was
initially built as a 1,500 sq. ft. home, which the
District purchased to house a two person rescue crew.
Today it houses a three-person fire crew and full-
sized pumper. It has a detached, commercial grade
“pole building” for the apparatus bay. Its rapidly
developing service area includes light industrial
sites, large residential areas, and a moderate
wildand/urban interface.
Increasing call volume and development activity
require construction of a modern fire station with a
community room in
this service area. The exact location of the upgraded
Station 68 will depend on the location of a new
station for the community expected to take shape as
part of the Bethany area Urban Growth Boundary expansion.
