TVF&R’s current administrative complex was built in 1979 by Washington County
Fire District #1 as the command facility for 5 fire stations;
today is supports 22 stations. It lacks access to freeway
systems and is located in an area that will eventually be
annexed to Hillsboro Fire & Rescue. The bond would relocate
TVF&R's current Command Center and a portion of its
Apparatus Maintenance Shop. The Command Center would
consolidate other rented space space and include community
rooms and a Fire Operations Center for directing all
resources during a disaster.
Construct a Command & Business Operations Center that
acknowledges current and future demands on the District,
while replacing privately leased space currently occupied by
South Division. In order to save on land costs, this
approximate 36,000 sq. ft. facility would likely be
co-located with an existing fire station. Services that
would be located there include: Command and
operations,
apparatus maintenance,
finance
and human resources,
emergency management, portions of technology and
communications,
fire
prevention, preventative health,
training,
video production,
public
education, and
community
services.
